Watch Guide Ultimate Reviews & Buyers Guide on Luxury Watches Rolex Watches
Welcome to consumerwatchguide.com . I created this site as a true watch lover. I love buying watches, working on watches and helping other watch lovers like myself find great deals and great watches.
A little bit about myself. I have been an active watch trader for the past 10 years. I have collected, bought, sold and traded watches of various brands and values. I am not exactly sure what turned me on to watches, it was a slow creep. I have always been an enterprising individual. I think when I was young I was honestly fascinated by the amount of money these items demanded. At 16, I was intrigued how someone could spend $10,000 on a watch. I started selling various small parts, that I sourced from overseas, watch hands watch movements blank cases, any thing. With my knowledge growing I found myself understanding how people became so passionate about a fine watch. The first watch that I bought that was a "luxury" watch was a men''s Rolex Tudor Datejust. I had priced Rolex Tudors for about 2 months and then when I found a deal I purchased one. I believe the price I purchased for was about $400. It was beat up and was from a Hong Kong seller.
When I received the watch, I polished it put a new crystal on it and had the movement serviced. I wore it for about 2 weeks and then put it on eBay. I sold the watch for a profit of approximately $300. After that I continued doing that with others for about 8 years. During that Time I have also had custom watches made for myself and for customers. I find that this area of the business I find most rewarding. Creating a custom 1 of a kind timepiece at a fantastic value. While It is not an active business, i still find myself sometimes sketching ideas for a custom watch.
